Another Night On The Street Bench
Its another night on the street bench
And it's getting rather cold
But I would rather sleep here
Then her big house made of gold
A kind soul came by and gave me a blanket
And a pillow for my soul
I said.. hey thanks!
You have a heart of gold
It must have been midnight when I was stirred
From a rather deep slumber
A small little lost puppy was licking my nose
I picked her up and we cuddled in the cold
Women have come and that women did go
But that little puppy was going to stay
And it made me smile
She was with me in the frigid cold
Morning came too soon as mornings do go
We were both hungry in body but not heart nor soul
Grabbing my blanket and my new found friend
We hobbled down this lonely roadside
I felt a chill in my bones but bones are bones
My bones the cage for my heart
It was burning so bright I almost cried
My little new-found puppy by my side
My old shoes do the walking
Birds singing their hearts out
The sun rising
Revealing
A new glorious day
