I've given up shampoo. I use Bonner's castile soap and rinse with straight vinegar. My hair doesn't smell like vinegar afterwards. My hair is shiny and full of body. During the winter, I used Burt Bees deep conditioner a couple of times. My hair stays cleaner longer without shampoo and conditioner. Bonner's castile soap is thin like water, but cheaper than natural sulphate free shampoo. I've had a quart size bottle for over 8 months now and it should last me at least another 4. I spent $11 dollars on it. Not bad for a "shampoo" that will last a year, that's less than $1 per month.

No, it doesn't, and the vinegar rinse makes it shiny. I used bonner's soap all summer without conditioner. This winter with the cold and dry air, I've needed to condition it once or twice.
