What happened to these people?
What happened to all those people recorded in the Bible who are said to have seen Jesus, walked with Him, slept with Him, and ate with Him after His recorded death & resurrection???

If you believe the stories most became martyrs to the new Christian faith.
Of course, it's a terrible shame that Jesus, in His wisdom, decided NOT to appear before any one who could reliably record the event - Roman officials for example.

This would be the most obvious things, as you have stated. But even should Jesus had appeared to those outside of the Christian faith, would chronological annals of such still be to modern day reader hear say

If enough 'respectful' sources talked of Him then historians would be much more likely to believe the accounts. Why is such an 'important' figure missing from all records except from stories told by his followers?

I don't know if anyone respectful would make a difference, for after all, it is only their belief, not their actual knowledge of such an occurrence. Your question is very much as mine, except asking in a different genre. Surely you would have to admit this figure's followers would make such outside records knows to enhance their religion.

If you are to believe the Essenes and the Dead Sea Scrolls, they all went to various ends of the planet to spread Christianity and Jesus' message.

I've read where Jesus told his disciples to spread the gospel to the world, but never heard of the specific people in the question being sent to the end of the planet to spread the gospel. Can you reference what you have stated for me?

It's probable that his execution was recorded. The Romans were among the first to keep public records and archives. Tacitus raised the issue of Christians (in his surviving chapter on Nero) referring to the execution and it's probable that there were extant records. Most of those records are lost now but Tacitus was renowned as the first historian to work where he could from records and fact, rather than dramatising history .like, say, Livy
