Cant find the I

Hi, I introduced myself a minute ago.
I have a question.

As many of you, I am inquiering into self realisation.
Now I am confronted with a situation and I dont know what to do.

I cant find the sense of an I. Allthough there are very less thoughts and emotions in me going on, there is not much of an ego and when I try to look at it, it doesnt show up.

There is mostly awareness, but I dont find that it is my true identity or something. Just neutrality, I feel myself neither as form nor as formless.
And I dont know what to do next.

I hope someone can help me with this.
Namaste

edit: Just wanted to add some information, that could be helpful:

it is like this for months now, its not just for a day or so.
Thanks

Hi

Some people follow the 'I' principle ..I heard a person say once it is with out Ego..to attach 'Am' is Ego.
Different strokes for different folks ..One can reach and ascertain certain levels by different ways of learning.
May I suggest .."Just Be" To do this become aware of each moment .

Detachment is just one small part of a greater journey within.

Blessings
:)

Yes very true.
There are different traditions with different practices.
Its just a question of "just being, being present" or inquiering into it.

For long time I was following Eckhart Tolles teaching, now I am focussed at Advaita as you may have noticed.

After all, time will wash away that which is seeming.

Thanks for your reply, we just have to trust

Hi Nando, what you feel takes some people who study Buddhism a long time to understand so your very lucky. Theres is no ' i ' we are all inter-connected with all things. Just enjoy how you feel, who needs ego anyway.

I hear you but yet there is something individual about this experience...or else "we" wouldn't be having this conversation and "you" would have no sense of "me" either.
I would look at it that who you see yourself as has changed and that you are not sure of the extent of those

@ Celest
Yes its sometimes enjoyable allthough not spectacular in fact nothing really is going on. I very much appreciate your comment and am glad that you relate to my question.

@Capacity
Yeah thats it
sometimes I have a very strange feeling:
There is not very much of suffering but the fact that there is neither suffering nor fullfillment makes me crazy. Its gives me the feeling: is there something to be undone still, which I would answer no; but then why isnt the job done..

-- anyway I feel some uncomfort to just talk about me
I am really happy that 3 people responded
If there is still something helpful to say please do so, wish you love

Nando

Nando, life is spectacular itself.
Stop searching for the ' i ' and just be.

I'm thinking Buddhism would be a great thing for you!
Esp Zen would be!
Have you ever 'inquired' in that direction?
If so ...what did you think?

Then, also... Nisargadatta is someone you probably would enjoy...
"I Am That " is a famous book.

Hi Nando,

In that case, just persist in awareness while the incessant changes of life provide the basis for that.

If something arises from within - like your urge to post here - simply be sincerely responsive to it.

If you want to explore Advaita, the writings of Vivekananda, Ramana Maharshi, Nisargadatta are good available resources.

As far as the time-factor issue, the cultivation of patience and non-expectation are useful.

All the best,

~ J
