Animal Kingdom!

It seems like a nice idea to create a thread where we can post our favourite animal themed films, songs, art, or any other kind of entertainment related to animals that we like, or that might inspire others.

I do have a vague memory of when this film was released, way back in 1985, because it was shown at school with a lot of excitement surrounding it. I find that everyone likes this kind of animation, which can be so captivating to a broad spectrum of people.

And I think Paul McCartney is still a great song writer!

What Lies Beneath

This is a music video that I've been waiting months to see. A song from the 'World On Fire' album that was released last year that aims to raise awareness of the plight of animals.
It has its own intro & contains images that you might find upsetting.

Beneath the Savage Sun

Contrastingly, something else that's come to me recently is a poem from my childhood. I used to sit, read, & listen to stories from the 'Story Teller' collection from the early 1980's. Over the years I had sometimes recalled some of the words from this poem, although I got them wrong. 'Big as a house' & 'quiet as a mouse' (lol) I would say at times. Hearing this poem (correctly) again after all these years was a lot of fun!

It's interesting to think how children's stories might change in the future if humanity continues on its current path...

This poem is called Oliphaunt.

I think it's power is a good match for the song above, I think it also makes a nice tribute to the elephant named 'Satao' (seen at 5:22 in the first video) who I imagine would have been a sight to behold. Sadly he didn't have the weaponry that he needed to defend himself in this world. I can't imagine that even an Oliphaunt, if such a thing existed, would have either!

Some good soul has also been kind enough to put the Story Teller Collection online for everyone's enjoyment!
