Demolished ruins
This dream that I had last night involved, my uncle, cousin, brother, and my dad. We were wondering around or hanging around some town when we had to leave the spot that we were staying in due to a demolition that was being scheduled. We left the area as the demolition was due to begin at any moment and as we were walking I realized I forgot my jacket. I told my dad but no one acknowledged me and I figured there was nothing I could do. The demolition was scheduled at a specific time and I figured I couldn't make it in time even though I was tempted.
I eventually began to lose pace with them—the turned a corner and were out of my sight. I followed the corner that they turned and saw them walking up a hill and figured I'd catch up with them. As I was walking, I saw what was about to be demolished. It was this big ancient Rome looking palace. I found it beautiful and sad that it was to be destroyed because of how monumental it appeared. Soon after passing the ruins, I found myself looking down at it all is if from the top of a building and I watched it get demolished. There wasn't much debris floating around as the ruins were demolished, and I felt inclined to take a picture of the aftermath. Any insight on this dream would be greatly appreciated.

Since there were so many family members I would say this dream is a reflection of a family dynamic or trait you are trying to free yourself from. As a family we tend to pass along behaviors, good and bad, simply by living with each other. The fact that they were all males says to me this is likely some sort of masculine trait, maybe of being overly protective, wearing a jacket means protection and since you left it behind that could me you are learning to open yourself up to being vulnerable. Something that men especially can have hard time doing. Are the men in your family macho or have a lot of bravado? It can be difficult to let old habits die that have been with you a long time and served to help protect you well but hiding under the covers will not take you to the top. Only by venturing out on your own will you reach great heights. You will look back and assess your life and realize the good and the bad helped shape who you are. This sounds like a transformation dream. A good thing but the demolition process can feel troubling in some ways so just be gentle with yourself as you go through any changes in your life.

I would agree with what you are implying. My dad isn't so good about talking about his feelings, and I've been back home from college living with my dad and brother, I feel I don't have my own space. It almost bothers me talking to my dad about how I'm feeling especially when he doesn't talk to us about what's going on. I've been making an effort lately to be more open with others because I've been coming to the realization that I have quite a lot of guards up. Thanks for your input.

The dream is about the demolition of a real life situation, such as living with your father and brother. There is a separation, as you can not catch up with them in the dream. The jacket shows the need for self protection while in that situation. You forgot it, because you are not in that situation anymore. You know now, that you do need your own space.
