Figure 8
Something I'm pondering about right now...
Your life is like a figure 8. You go out and try to "make something of yourself," only to watch yourself struggle to obtain happiness. You are at a constant battle with the external world. Why? Because you no longer go within to seek liberation. Therefore, everything on the outside is a reflection of your negativity. You simply are not with yourself.
Desire/clinging will leave you in a constant state of depression. Self acceptance (becoming whole) will leave you feeling free.
So you can live your whole life constantly going in the same pattern, just to find yourself back where you started. But the good news is, you can start living now. So, don't waste time. This doesn't not mean do not seek anything, but rather realize that all you ever need is inside you. Let the external world just be a tool for allowing you to manifest.

This is living life in every way of you. The battle can still be experienced externally to bring you back to you. Seeking externally or seeking in general leads you back to yourself in your own time. I think you are with yourself wherever you go and are...If you have a pain body (according to Tolle) then naturally you will meet yourself in everyway of you and your pain will be amplified by the seeking. And those meetings, even in seeking, struggle do help the whole process.

This is true. Only not everyone suffers depression through desire of clinging..people suffer in many ways of this.

I like this last bit. Self reflection even as you seek is the way to empower even as experiences might not be to your liking in your seeking.

The figure eight can also be seen as symbolic of infinite free flow between self and the external/opening to the infinite abundance of giving and receiving...so once you get this and live according to this, life flows much more pleasantly..:)
