A Question of Belief
I believe this, you believe that. Is this a question of perspective? Individual experiences? I use the term belief in a general sense, not specifically related to any particular subject. Of course I could brake it down into parts:
Faith: a question of believing something
Facts: a perception which is agreed to by repeated experiences by a number of set individuals or groups
Reception of belief and facts, believing in these two things, but then that's an endless road is it not?
So what is the nature of belief? A emotional response at a time of most need? Or is it a fluid, according to experiences your having at that particular moment?

Belief is a powerful tool to use...this is it's nature. It can be the key to miracles or the key to destruction. The choice is ours.

i like that quote too....a fluid...and what do you do when the river of life throws you on the banks?
if one did not belief in their selves, what happens? would you be at the mercy of the universe? do we really have control at all? is belief a form of personal power? ugh!

Yes I think in most cases belief is a personal power, we are not really at the mercy of the universe, we are the universe, whatever happens is God's will, we are not the doer, the universe is the doer, when we truly realize this, we can just set back and enjoy the ride no matter where it takes us, theirs no one doing anything, it just happens to look that way.

Very well said. I was trying to formulate a response, because to me it is the cornerstone of who we are, but I couldn't have said it better.

As I see it, belief is whatver we give our attention to as if it were real... whether it comes direct and true from Source or filtered through the mind's conditioining and imagination. And what we hold as real in our consciousness manifests for us. This is the power of the mind.
As Psychoslice said, letting go of the need to believe we are doing the creation takes us beyond the personal identity to the universal, which is a whole lot deeper and more fun.
