It happens.
I have a pond, Dream Angel and dragonflies start off in the water, then they climb the stalks of the cattails in there. they aren't a very attractive bug when they are emerging from the water. Like a cicada comes up from a burrow in the ground and attaches to a tree and then breaks free of the old body, leaving a shell, the dragonfly does same, but emerges from the water and exits it's shell body. It's quite a lovely thing to watch. When they unfurl their wings, they look like sheets of crystal. They shimmer so beautifully.
Anyway, having a pond, I get to enjoy their company. I would go out to take pictures of anything and everything, but dragonflies are in abundance. they soar and sail around me. They really do follow you about. It's pretty cool.

Beautiful dragonfly pictures!
In Japan, the dragonflies sybolize courage, strength, and happiness according to Wikipedia.
I've been seeing more dragonflies in our backyard. One kept pestering my husband who was working in the garage. My daughter tells me the fae enjoy riding them.

Very nice ! Your very own nature channel. I remember being by a river once, and seeing some dragonflies nearby, they came very close one could almost touch them as they hovered.

Once when I went to Buttermilk Falls, I hiked up to the other park that leads to Lucifer Falls...walking through this wooded area i saw an aszure blue damselfly, I imagine it was as it was thinner, but oh was it gorgeous. I think I got a picture of it, but not as good as I would have liked, but have no idea if it's simply stuck away on a disc or if I uploaded it anywhere. Its wings were like crystal, but lined in black, and that body was just radiant in color.
