in my late teens i read about a useful practice in a book on buddhism.
it is this: read for one hour, meditate for two hours, and write for three hours.
it was not always possible to keep to the exact times suggested, but the overall principle of read - meditate - write was very helpful in gaining insights into some of the religious and spiritual writings.

That sounds practical and interesting to deepen beyond knowledge alone. Becoming requires more than one thing alone. It’s an integrative practice that eventually leads you to becoming self aware as truth through yourself. In this way, your letting the meditation and writing be expressed through you, which also expands and bridges different insights.

it deepens the understanding. often times after reading something i thought i understood, but when i tried to express my understanding in writing, i had to dig deeper, as you said, to a place, where i became the knowledge or the knowledge became me.
