they've all had movie treatments.
they've all been popular, across the spectrum, but especially with youngsters.
all take place in an 'alternate realm', earth-like but with distinctions.

they don't contain a Home Theater Digital Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound System with Ambient Light
and they all have a rather positive ending with good prevailing over evil
( which is the reason I rarely want to know the end because too predictable / not interesting / childish / unrealistic ).

The thing I was thinking of is that they were all written by devout Christians. The authors were all Christian. It got me wondering if it was their relationship with Christ which inspired them and fired their imagination. I find Christ's spirit very creative.....
