A dog in dream

I had a weird dream.
I was going with my friend and a few dogs were barking and fighting. I thought by ignoring them, I could be safe but instead, a dog ran towards me and bit my finger. The dog had a wound on his eye. So my friend started petting and loving the dog and the dog did not do anything wild after that. I was shocked that instead of ignoring the dog, she was loving such a scary dog.

what does it mean? Just a day ago I had a dream about a very sad looking dog as well.

it had bit your finger, which is not how a typical "attack" would go down.
(it wasn't seeking to maul/kill you),
do you have a loyal friend who has a particular view on life which is in error?
this may be something that you've yet to put your finger on
(which is why attention is brought there)?
the loyal nature of dogs comes through to me, and coupled with your
mention of a friend....
ignoring the need isn't working for either of you [if this is indeed the case].
