It's like the blind men trying to describe an elephant through touch. One blind man touches the elephant’s side and thinks it is like a wall. Another touches the elephant’s tusk and believes it is like a spear. A third touches the elephant’s trunk and thinks it is like a snake. A fourth touches the elephant’s knee and believes it is like a tree trunk. A fifth touches the elephant’s ear and thinks it is like a fan.
There's something common in all those experiences (and all experience including experience of thought and even experience of absence) and from my perspective that's the nondual. It's like seeing. We see all manner of things and they all appear different, however it's all seeing. We experience all manner of different things through the senses and mind and what they all have in common is the knowing of all those different experiences. Rupert Spira calls it the Shining Light of Pure Knowing.
