Serves us right I suppose for projecting ‘specialness’ on their ‘indigenousness’.

Although this doesn’t really happen in Oz.
Or what do you think?
We don’t go to Aboriginals for their ‘Wisdom’ or to get a ‘Totem’ – hence the Kinship name, do we?
It only happens in Northern Territory or in Western Australia and only if you are associated with the community and/or are a functioning member of a specific 'mob'.

Sentient. Yep I know what you mean but I’m unsure if much of it goes on with the Aborigines here cos I’m not involved with that kinda thing.

I’ve only really sat and talked to a couple of Aboriginal women artists in central Australia who were artists and found that really interesting.

I’ve probably had more interaction with the Native American people the couple of times that I’ve been over there. Maybe that’s because my friend had a boyfriend who is Lakota and was involved in some of the things that they were doing such as The World Peace Day and the Sundance etc

Well, besides Uluru, the annual Alice “Desert Mob” art exhibition and the Desert Park are worth the visit plus I should also mention the Camel Cup ….

So indigenous, it is great!
(I have now watched too many old “America First Finland (Norway, Sweden etc) Second” videos …)

Yeah I’ve heard about the Camel Race. Apparently it’s real fun.

I’ve spent a week at Uluṟu and loved it. The energy from that rock is just mind blowing. I can now see and understand why the aboriginals call it sacred.

As for the art, well it just doesn’t stir anything within me and I’m not a big lover of it but maybe I just don’t “get it”.
