Actually Abe Hicks said that feeling self-love -which is feeling love in your heart- is often difficult for us and that it thus is better and easier to focus on being love.
Which is the other way round than what you say above...
And I do feel what Abe says resonates. But then it's not being loving as you can kinda fake that. It's truly being Love.
I always feel the best way to get to that higher vibration of being is to ask yourself regularly "what would an Angel do/feel?"
Or "What would Love do?"
That tends too immediately shift your vibration, unless you're truly 'far gone', haha.

A lot of people act and seem loving and caring and nurturing, but deep down they are actually doing this so they don't have to deal with their own issues.
Often such people need to be needed (low self-esteem etc.).
So not all people that seem to be loving and naturally nurturing also have an open Heart.

In essence I think so, yes. But if not mistaken there's also all kinds of neurotransmitters and hormones involved.
I'm not 100% certain, but I vaguely recall in very rare cases someone lacks these substances and is incapable of feeling love of any kind. No compassion, nothing.
But normally I think it begins with baby & mother. Mother cares for baby due to mostly oxytocin, the bonding hormone, released during breastfeeding amongst other things so she doesn't just leave her baby to die.
And babies in utero can already pick up on feelings of love, again via hormones etc.

getting to a very high vibration would do that. You don't have to be religious for it. I mean, look at what Joe Dispenza's method does for thousands of people!
It's all about raising your own vibration.

You can only receive a high vibration when yours is in the very vicinity of it. If the gap is to great you cannot receive.

I agree with this, although I do believe it's in human nature to be loving, affection etc.
And logical as we are group people, not hermits, and in order to keep our place in a community we had to be wired to be able to love, care for, and so on.
Without that innate ability our species wouldn't have survived.
But to have less issues with having an open heart, feeling true self-love and so on, yes it's important to be reared with that.
Nevertheless along the way to adulthood things can happen that change that...
My two cents :)
