Grounding techniques

What are some techniques I can use to relax myself and help me get into the zone before I meditate?

Simple breathing. in through the nose and out through the mouth. As running says imagine energy from the earth coming up through your feet and making it's way through your body relaxing each part one at a time (perhaps activate each chakra on the way up). It takes a while at first but I think the first trick to any meditation is getting the whole body relaxed first.

I use counting to get back on track. When I find myself starting to think, I start counting and usually it helps.

there are infinite techniques . that's the beauty
1.stretching would be the best for anyone I would say massaging your body also
2.you can also shake your intire your body stretch your neck and spine as best possible.
3. dancing also is best for energy work, meditation.
4. breathing deep breaths
5.grounding is very important imagine your feet as roots which they are connecting with mother earth. stand firm on ground put your awareness on your feet that energy is dispelling from the bottom of your feet. after that you will feel lighter.
6.for relaxing methods you can also take a spiritual bath with flowers or regular bath dispelling certain energys.
