Not dangerous, like taking an over dose of a drug could be, but it sure can be annoying. Perhaps the benefit of meditation will be lost this day but it don't need to really. And then we have a wonderful oppertunity to be mindful of our reaction. To practice letting things be as they are. Surrender and relax into the broken meditation.
It's ok, just resolve to begin again fresh. I say this because It happens to me so much. I heard of a guy who used to meditate in a broom closet at the very noisy prison he was incarcerated in. I can't imagine how that even worked. But he apparently built a very strong practice which inspired a great many people. I can't remember his name or the book I heard he wrote.
