The magic of spiritual encounters

In my life away from mediumship and everything else, I'm a ibt of a writer. I've had my journalism published reguarly in national publications that I write for but right now am exploring fiction. I'm currently writing a piece about spirituality and how it impacts someones life when they realise they can sense spirits and previously couldn't. It's part fantasy, part thriller, and deals with the idea that one day nobody will believe anymore and with that when we die, the lights will truly go out. Spirits will be no more. The main character, Kate, goes on a journey of discovery and eventually realises she is the last believer and it is up to her to find a faith strong enough within herself to help others believe too. There's a lot more ot it than just that but that's the main storyline: magical discovery.

And this is where you lovely people may be able to help...

One of the main themes I deal with in the book, titled "Beluga", is transforming the way the reader views death as a concept. I'm trying to change it from being viewed as something upsetting and horrible to the gateway to another world where anything is possible. A total alternate universe, if you will :) Part of this transformation has invovled writing in a way which portrays the experience of spirituality as magical rather than scary and although a lot of the instances in the book are based on my own "magical" moments with spirits, I'd love to hear from other people on theirs.

The type of things I am looking for are the stories of the moments that really moved you. The first time my Dad came through he told a medium to touch my should in a special way - that was a very personal thing to my Dad and I, and I knew then 100% without any shadow of a doubt, that my Dad was with us in spirit that day. Another story was the first time I sensed a spirit in a random building, and then completely by coincidence, later on got speaking to a member of staff who completely unknowing about my ability, said he sensed a spirit in the building too - he described exactly what I ahd felt and seen. That was a moment that really made me stop and think about what was happening. Another favourite of mine, is a dream I had where my Dad visited and walked with me to a place that he told me was the entrance to the spirit world. There was a man with a skin head sitting at the entrance, with a crook, guarding the way in. He glowed. In the meeting, my Dad told me he was showing me the way because one day I too would pass through and he would be waiting for me.

Moments like those, to me, are magical and have formed my faith.

I'm looking for heart warming amd magical stories of encounters with the other world. Pour your hearts out :) I'm not going to directly lift anything, but I am looking for inspiration and ideas; things you saw, things you felt etc..
