I agree with Astraluzy. I noticed my paralysis succeeds past the "eye" stage when my fear elevates. As the good soul in this forum told me "Send it Love". If you send it love, it will have nothing to hurt you with. If you send it fear, that's exactly what it feeds on and it will get stronger.
Easier said than done, I know. I had to go through many many sleep paralyses before I realized that taking control over my fear is the way I manged to control the paralysis (and the healing of course). :)
