The metaphors the Bible uses to describe God are those of an ancient Mesopotamian kingdom, hence all the talk of kingdoms and thrones. Those metaphors are probably a poor choice for moderns - few of whom have much experience with absolute monarchs.
But in fact, the word Jesus would have used for Kingdom - "Malkuth", translates as something like "sphere of influence" "jurisdiction" or "sovereignty". In modern terms, it means something like the "God dimension" or "God frequency". It is a dimension of reality in which the divine will is actual.

Democracy is based on the principle that 2 stupid people together can make better decisions than one intelligent person.
A system based on benevolent authoritarianism would be much better.
