What did I do wrong?

(I dont know if this is right place for this cents it invovls lucid dreaming)

Last night I finly lucid.

My dream started off like alot of them do, random and weird. But then I apered at some park. I dont know what turned the swich but I soon realized conchusly, fully aware (not a dream trick) that I was dreaming. Of cores I was over joyed waiting for this to happen for what seemed like ages. I repeated to my self in my dream "I am dreaming. I am dreaming! This hole thing is nothing but a dream! You hear that love? Its a dream! I know Im asleep! Can you please come to me and join me? I would like to see you!" I stood there and looked around the park. I saw nothing. No one. I stood there waiting but he never showed up. Advencholy I said *sigh* "Screw it. Ill just continue with this dream and see where it leads me." And so I did. I woke up not remembering any thing but that one part.

So, what did I do wrong? Was I not lucid enough? Was there somthing blocking him? or Did he simply wasnt able to? I would like to know my mistake so I can work on it. Like I said, I didnt know where to stick this one. It involves communicating with my guide and lucid dreaming. @.@

Hi Zoclora,

Try not to be too disappointed - it's great that you managed to have a lucid dream, and that probably means you'll have some more of them. I've been successful a couple of times when I found myself in this situation, but I've also been unsuccessful too. The first time I tried it it didn't work for me either, so please try not to be disheartened!

How lucid were you? I think what I would suggest to you is to take it a little more slowly the next time you find yourself in this situation. Ask spirit to connect you telepathically to your spirit guide - you should be able to feel that connection if it happens - and then engage him in a conversation. Talking to a guide is a different thing in a dream to when you are awake; it's like talking with a normal person, and you can then ask him if he feels it is appropriate for him to come to you in his physical form. (The answer might be no. I had this exact conversation with one of my guides in a dream once and he said "no, I don't think that's a good idea right now" - he later told me I wasn't lucid enough and he wanted me to have that experience when I was really aware of what was going on, and in hindsight I agree with him because it really meant more to me when that time came.)

When we are dreaming we are actually on the spirit side, but because we are still connected to our sleeping human mind, we end up wandering about in a little world of our subconscious creation. We have full control of our situation and surroundings in the spirit world and the same is true of our dream world, so sometimes our guides can't actually get into our dreams at all because the conditions of our dream world do not allow them entry (this is why guides often take forms in our dreams which fit the dream scenario), so it may have been that you were unconsciously blocking that connection. Do you have any fears or concerns about meeting your guide? If so, that fear may have been what caused it.

Since you are able to communicate with your guide you could also try asking him if he actually heard you ask for him in the dream (if he didn't, that would indicate that you are blocking yourself in some way, and if he did and didn't or couldn't respond, perhaps he can give you some reason as to why).
