What are you meditating for?

For us crazy spiritual people, meditation is a staple of emotional wellbeing....It has been shown in many studies that the benefits of meditation are many and effective.......but then what about the paradox of the whole thing?

If we practice, it is for the sole purpose in bringing about a change in ourselves, but ultimately it is this attempt to change that is the root cause of the problem. Therefore no matter how many hours we sit, the solution will never come. In fact, ANY desire to meditate for spiritual reasons negates any possibility of nourishment, but will give a nice relaxed feeling in the body and will help us be calmer and more effective.

What I'm suggesting is that meditation is for beginners who don't understand that it is impossible to understand...if that makes sense...Otherwise why would you even try?
It is a purely physical thing that enables us to be content with the material portion of reality. Once this is complete...then we can start to mature.

Meditate to relax and heal the body of course...but if we don't finish with the practice at some point, we are doomed to failure.....We have to drop all ideas of it so that we can see though our own eyes rather than the eyes of a pedestalled sage.

There is no enlightenment! There are no Gods, no spirits, no evolution, no peace, no practice that can help us evolve.....As long as we have these ideas in our heads....no chance.

Spirituality has been commercialised, *******ised, corrupted, packaged and sold to us, and since we tend to follow like sheep, the community has paid a heavy price.

I believe that for many of us....meditation is our form of entertainment....Hugh Hefner gets his from taking advantage of pretty girls who love money so much that they abandon their integrity (the girls get theirs from the inverse), and we get ours from sitting quietly....at a fundamental level, there is no difference between the two.

Meditation for me was simply something that became me .

I needed to self enquire and find my self .

Naturally I felt that I needed to remove myself from the so called outside world and go inwards .

Meditation is a means to go within ..

In what way did meditation become you?

You don't need to find yourself, you are right there in front of your computer. If I was standing beside you I'd point and say, "there you are." Then we'd be done with the whole thing and go get something to eat and be merry.

No need for inner work, There is no inner or outer world.
How can we possibly be oneness or nothingness if we have inner and outer?

well you start of with 'for us' but talk only of your world

sure your world is as you say it is , would be odd if it where not so

what you create is what you experience i presume and that is your world

also seems you sound strong and happy well thats good to i would think :-)

as not being spiritual sure no one needs to be

best seems to like what you are in all aspects of the experience in life you

have :-)

Haha! You still didn't get it :P

Every single aspect of my life has been blessed by spirituality. But I'm not spiritual like you see in youtube vids or read in books. The difference is that I'm speaking of my own experience.
I meditated for hours every day for years. Kundalini blasted through my whole body....I felt bliss and wonderment and grew confident. My life opened up to a new dimension.......I still lucid dream and have OBEs

Then I realised that all spiritual teachings were born from the same source that created buildings, roads, banks, empires and religions etc.

Every meditator is a copycat and a daydreamer (nothing wrong with daydreaming). If you were never taught about meditating, you probably would never have tried it.
Why would I want to be like the Buddha? He died a long time ago....his teachings are not relevant now (and I'm sure he would tell you the same if you both met)

All spiritual paths are irrelevant to what is happening around you.

Completely dropping these ideas of evolution and not replacing it with some other creed cures the person from spiritual blindness.

But we're all great escape artists aren't we?

Not that I'm free....I'm saying there is nothing to be free from in the first place.

When something arises in relation to self then that something becomes you . If happiness arises then happiness becomes you . Meditation was arising within me, all I had to do was shut my eyes . Meditation was a state of mind that became me, rather than something I sort out .

Pointing at me saying I am there can be no more than pointing to what is there . What one relates to what is there can differ . Contemplating on what is being pointed to/at within meditation can eventually bring about realizations to that effect .

Meditation can take one beyond one's intellectual reasoning in regards to what is there . So all though I am here, there is no reference to what we are beyond here . Finding one's self is realizing what is beyond here . Try doing that within the noise and drama of life .

Inners and outers, everything and nothing are reference points within the whole . The inner self can be related to the unconscious self .. Meditation can bring what is unconscious/ unknown/ unrealized to the fore . Going within is likened to becoming aware of what one is currently unaware of . Like I mentioned above, not realizing what you are beyond that which is appearing here and now can become realized when one bridges the gap .

Meditation is likened to the bridge and as one journeys across the bridge the gap lessens ..

Trying to find oneself IS the noise and drama of life.

There is no bridge and no gap....Spirituality gave you the gap. I have no gap (sounds dirty) I just look you in the eyes and say hello, one person to another.

My meditation practice/d is not the same as the noise and drama of life I can assure you .

Perhaps you have made no distinction for yourself between the noise and the silence .

If there is no supposed gap between the unrealized self and the realized self then there would be no realization had .
