The Wife of a Crime Lord

The other night I had this dream.

I was the wife of a crime lord. We had a son who was maybe 3 or 4 years old and a nanny. My husband had noticed the nanny on more than one occasion slapping our son on the hand when he would do something wrong and he didn't like it. He had warned me to get rid of her but I didn't have a problem with her. Then I came home one day and he had stabbed her. She wasn't dead but she was not in good shape. It was an overwhelming scene really where she was barely conscious and bleeding in one part of the room while he was standing in front of me yelling about how this was my fault because I hadn't gotten rid of her and now he had no choice, she had to die.

I often times have strange dreams. Some of them are so out there it is easy for me to start seeing the symbolism in them. But it is the ones like these that leave me wondering if they aren't glimpses into the lives of others. I truly hope not.

Do you have a husband and 3 year old? If not this may be about your own internal conflict or self judgement. When you get new ideas do you tend to be harsh on yourself critical of every move as good or bad? Do you beat yourself up a bit? The dream may be an indication of an internal tug of war going on. Your inner child is striking out in revolt but causing some loss of energy in the process.

You may be feeling judged or guilty in real life. Maybe in childhood, or present time, you were blamed for things you did not do. The crime lord may be your self accusing part of yourself.

Thanks for the feedback. Yes this defiantly rings true for this point in my life.

Just went back to work after years of doing only volunteer work and I find myself in a constant tug of war between doing as the company expects of me and doing as my co-workers expect of me. I tend to be very by the book and this is creating a lot of turmoil for me. It truly bothers me that I don't see the values of the company being upheld in my work space. But I am also not in a position to do anything about it which means I either have to get the higher ups involved or I have to leave.
