TV / FILM Theme tunes ...

What are your favourite TV/ Film theme tunes ?
There are so many brilliant ones that it's hard to choose a favourite, but I will start with the following .......

I am mezmorised by the "Inspector Morse" theme tune. So excellently and cleverly composed by Australian Barrington Pheloung who sadly passed away in 2019 aged 65.
I can only describe this music as "hypnotic" and like listening to 2 different tunes at the same time.
The melody is beautiful , accompanied by the tapping of the Morse tune along with it.
So brilliantly done as the opening notes are actually based on the Morse code for "Morse"....
How clever is that ???

I'm sorry I can't post a link, but it can easily be googled by simply typing in "inspector Morse theme tune"....

I'm also in awe of John Williams but will save his works of musical art for another post ...

...had to look it up again independently LOL... But yes. Absolutely stunning ( gladiator).

A TV series theme tune that I used to adore was the black beauty theme tune ( called galloping home) written by Denis king in 72.
But then again I loved the show because of the horse .
I used to daydream about owning a beautiful horse.

Likewise, I also used the love the opening song of "white horses" TV show , probably for the same reason !

The theme tune to the Robinson Crusoe TV series was haunting too.

Re music

Have a Listen to a piece called Meditation Thais. By Jules Massenet.

It hits me in the soul!

Perhaps someone can down load it here for me. I’ve tried and it won’t work.

Love the Luminous piece Miss H
