There was nothing I could do

So I sow my seeds,
It's such a wonderful day!
I listen to the sound of silence,

Salt sells for those who
Need it's nourishment.
Spring resumes asking us to -
Fear not death -
Rebuild and start again.

In the space of freedom, silence and
Love...
Everything grows.

Guided by your hand

Then the doubts began to creep in
What if I, for some reason,
Am never allowed
To be in sync with you again?

"If I can't have it all,
Just give me a taste."
Some would say,
But I desire nothing more
Than to submerge in the ocean
Floating far, far away

But I feel it in my bones,
I know you are still there
Waiting for the moment
When I am most alone and scared

I will try to keep the faith,
I will try to make my way
I am just a woman
What else can I say?

"The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters"
Is a nice little track.
It's part of a playlist
I've been listening to.
Some songs I've listened to
Much more than others.

Tonight's song was about a woman
Who woke up to find
She was suffering from
Incurable disease.

It altered her perception so
She learned she had to trust others
Lest she fall to her death
Or be electrocuted
Or something like that.

She fell asleep again
And when she awoke
A different song was playing.
She found a golden scepter
Crusted with emeralds, amethyst,
And a single red ruby.

She felt like herself again
And more true.
Still, she ran on faith.

To find, when on the next morning
She awoke a third time
She was cured.
All her friends and family were there
They drank, celebrated, and ate cake.

The next song was playing
Faintly, yet to be fully heard.
And she wondered
"Who says dreams aren't real?"

Thanks for sharing this story, I really enjoyed it.
I too have a song which lingers in my mind... It captivates me in its story... For some reason unknown to me.

(meant to be sung)

You've been haunting me,
Don't you think it's time we both moved on?
Two wounds matching
Don't make partners in this life
I suppose
You could stay just a little while
But don't think it will be long

I won't pull you out
Won't drag you to the light
But there's a peace waiting for you
If you'll just walk to it

I lost a friend today, faithful and true
She understood me, but the connection wasn't right
If I could look back
And make all these wrongs right
I'd do it in a heartbeat
But the world keeps spinning
The living keep on living
The dead must be reborn
Rather than holding on

I know you might be scared
God knows I'm scared too
But if you're in a maelstrom,
The eye is the only place to be
Watch the emotions spinning
Fall into that trance
Let the light find you
So I will have my chance
So you will have a chance

Yeah I may be broken
But I ain't dead yet
The sun still brings warmth
To my fragile flesh
The birds they are all singing
I want to join the song

Why do you hold us back?
I can't stop holding on,
Unless you let me go
Let's say our goodbyes
Your hunger is unhealthy,
You know

I wake up to walk outside
I sleep so that I can Smell
The scent of rain
and I look at the homeless, the worn down, with so little pity
So they don't look too deep.

You've got to walk down the sidewalk in the park and feel
The life in the air without staring to hard
Then you go to work or work hard over
an instrument or a piece of paper

You don't cram every second with useless noise
Or act like all that struggle and releaseand love
Isn't going on just one or two apartments or blocks away

And most importantly, before I go to sleep
I always shout at the starlit, dark sky
Filled with light pollution and smog
Hoping one day an echo will come back
From one of those pinpricks of light

They all seem like little pictures
Thrown in the river to float and soak

The colored marker I drew them with
Blends in entirely new colors
The designs become blurred and blotchy

I would like to wait
At the edge of the river
And collect each image
with my softest touch

So the squares of paper do not rip

Then I will dry them in the sun
They will be
Something totally unique
