Now, THAT is for sure.
When we have suffered enough - we do let go, though.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

Some info: I was part of a same sex twin flame connection. I met her at a vulnerable age and time in life when my dad had committed suicide..my biological mom was divorcing him.

The reason you struggle with this, is found within the situation that occurred more than the twin you lost. That is what you are holding on to, and why you struggle to enter into a new relationship.
The love you felt was the love you were missing within your life at the time. You lost your dad, your mom was divorcing him, and this person stepped into to fill the shoes of your parents. That made you feel safe, protected. And then it vanished, and you lost not only love, but security, and you fret ever finding that again. And since it disappeared so abruptly with no contact, you will no doubt fear it again. And so you push love away from you.
So your loss stems to your mother. And working to heal the wounds of your mother, and the loss of abandonment of your father is also vital to help you heal and free yourself. Twins, and even soul connections, have a way to mirror the shadows and wounds within us so we can heal them. And so you lost love with this person, and abandonment. Same as when you lost your dad, and the love you didn't have with your mom.
Start with healing that, and loving yourself fully. When you love yourself fully, love yourself more.

This is true.
But... our life is transient. Everything and everyone along the way is also transient. I refer back to an old fortune cookie I got back in the late 80s - "Treasure what you have so not to miss it when it is gone." That was my motto before, but the fortune cookie expressed it better than I could. I learned at a very young age that I am the only person that will be in my life, for my entire life; everyone else is temporary scene partners.

You asked about the silver lining in this.
If it were me, NOW, with age and wisdom...I would say this to myself:
(And I do!)
"I know life is meant to disappoint us for one reason...so that we seek You, Lord, so that we seek
what never disappoints us and is always there."
It has a purpose, sis...what a painful, heartbreaking lesson, I think we all know!!
Do I think same sex heartbreaks are harder? I do...don't ask me why...
I wouldn't be able to explain without using psychobabble, probably.
If you ever want to change your name to Lioness...pm Lynn.
I did think you were male cuz of the name all this time.

I'm in the middle of watching this
My Unforgettable Week With The Beatles | Paul Saltzman | YCUT Interviews
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_oTt7DSMyQ
In the video Paul Saltzman says meditation helped him get over the pain of his heart break.

Miss Hepburn,
In curious why you think same sex relationship are harder to get over. You can even PM it to me.
In general, I'm still getting over her but like the past 2 or 3 months I've let go a lot more. All I have left is love for her. It seems it never goes away but it's kinda nice to know I appreciate out time together that much ♡
