Thank you, Native!

In the meantime I got a lot more work done. Still not finished though.

The castles and landscape are much lighter, but if I get that photographed the way it is the arch washes out.
The weirdest thing.
But since I want to show the arch, I tried to get that as close to how it is in real life. Also not easy. When it looks great on my phone it is bland on my monitor.

In any case, this is what I've done so far:

Thank you so much!
It makes me happy that my painting that didn't work out before now is loved & appreciated by people.

I'm real happy with it myself as well. It never sits well with me when a painting isn't quite what it was supposed to be. It's then something I wouldn't sell, nor hang up. The remaining choice is to throw it away, which I'm not a fan of, or store it.

Not done with this yet, I hope to finish the arch today. Will post update if at all possible (it's overcast & gloomy).

So far it has proven to be well worth the time and effort to properly finish such paintings.
This should be the last one. Now I got 3 good paintings instead of "what am I gonna do with it" paintings.

What I like best is the "journey" of your paintings .
Seeing the ( almost) blank canvas to the finished article.
It's quite intimate really.

Thanks, AngelBlue, that's lovely to hear! Especially since I like the sharing as opposed to waiting until it's completely done.

I'm done with the top part now.
It got quite dark, I was in two minds about it at first when I finished last night. But now I do think it actually has a certain charm.
It is not as dark as in the photo but cannot get it right. If I make it lighter the lower parts wash out :/

Now I can get on with the landscape itself. Do the last fixes and tweaks of that :)

It's looking great fairy.
I really like the added depth on the arch.

that looks amazing. I love how everything just pops like it's 3D.
it looks like it would make a great jigsaw puzzle.

Thank you Jojobean!

Currently not certain how I'm going to finish the landscape. Maybe it doesn't need much. I had been thinking about something in the foreground but then thought it'd maybe distract from the rest too much.
Not sure yet.
