FYI, I was reading this post. Castor oil on the eyelids is very good for moistening the eyes. I use it. It also gets rid of cataracts if used twice a day for 30 days.
This all comes from Barbara O'Neill on youtube. Be sure you get high quality castor oil, cold pressed organic no hexene. It goes into your eyes through you eyelids. One drop spread across each eyelid. It can create a little fuzziness if you use too much, I just blink a bit and it helps. Hope this helps you.

thank you. I may try that as I also have dryish eyes that the price of medicine is exorbitant for.... I think I'm also starting to get cataracts so maybe that would be good for other reasons

It works very well, almost immediately the eyes feel better. I am using it for cataracts also, I will keep you posted on how that works.
