Nisargadatta Maharaj was once asked repeatedly how he got into his "superconscious" state. He repeatedly responded that he was NOT in a "superconscious state.

Finally, the questioner asked Nisargadatta what state he was in.

Nisargadatta reportedly smiled and responded: "This is the perfectly NORMAL state. I don't know what state you've gotten yourself into."

CONCLUSION:

I want to feel "NORMAL" (as in the case of Nisargadatta Maharaj).

You know what...this is a BIG DEAL for me...it seems to be a recurring theme in my awareness...
That is: This super-consciousness, by all these names ...is not hard at ALL!
That Anandamayi Ma, again made me very aware of this!

We dumb clucks are the abnormal ones if not in that state.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

When I look back over my life, I experienced the silence of the mind so many times, I can not even guess how many times. To me, that is when the Magick begins. The only regrets is I had to learn 'everything' on my own. Even when I did get advice from others, it did not seem to fit in the scheme of things.

i wonder if there was any particular theme or thing that brought you to silence. all i did is do what seem to bring it on. not from silence but bliss. one brings the other.

Since a kid, I could quiet my mind or should I say, my mind went quiet.

For me, it just happened.
What probably brought it on was my Mother would say "Young man, when your Father gets home, you are going to get it!"

When Pops got home, I would get it with a whip. It didn't take me long to realize I didn't feel a thing. As I look back, my mind was quiet during those episodes. When I was in 11th or 12th grade, Pops bought some hand selected 2 X 4's. He picked one up, and broke it over my back. I can see his face even today. After that day, he never touched me again. As for me, I did not feel a thing. Not even a mark. Later, I suspected I had 'mastered' some martial arts tactics all on my own.

........... and that was just the beginning. I have had so many experiences that I doubt I can put them all in a book and the common thread was when things happened, my mind was quiet.

I am so glad that you brought up Anandamaya Ma, as my spiritual mentor and Ananadamaya Ma were very close. As a matter of fact, our ashram in Kankal (near Haridwar, India) is walking distance from Anandamaya's mausoleum. The energy there is absolutely awesome.

I loved your concluding statement: "We dumb clucks are the abnormal ones if not in that state". That was precisely Nisargadatta's point about his being "NORMAL".
