“The universe is but a thought in Consciousness
In Reality it is nothing
One who sees the true nature of existence and non-existence
never ceases to exist”

Contemplation level-1

Is it so? Poof! Gone! A bubble of illusion
Appearing & disappearing in our consciousness
Our repeated reincarnations then too must be delusion
A masterful mirage we believe real being under hypnosis

Existence & non existence ... what do these words convey
Other than challenging our intellect
Whether valid or not at this juncture what can we say
Other than that the hypothesis seems suspect

But this is the Ashtavakra Gita and Ramana too says it is true
So what should we do ... shall we then discard our honesty
Joining the herd in applause even though we have no clue
Or do we reject the proposition as being not our felt reality

We sleep we rise and the world is as it was
There is as we see it a synchronous continuity to life
And while we may be unaware of the root cause
We do feel as real the pain when cut by a knife

Even when in deep meditation
When thoughts and senses pause
We may experience the void or image manifestations
Yet upon returning the world resurfaces as it was

So at best we can accept that what appears & disappears is our attention
Where it is at any moment depends upon its resonation
To chosen vibration
This hypothesis too being merely a suggestion

——

Contemplation level 2

Recognising that everything is vibration
Matter being but energy crystallised
All that is transient being a manifestation
That by mind is measured and sized

What is that which neither comes nor goes
Within everything but affected by nothing
Enigmatic space without which nothing shows
The screen upon which we see images shifting

That that is beyond the mind
How may we realise
Unless thoughts & senses we leave behind
So say sages wise

“The Self--which is
absolute, effortless, timeless,
immaculate-- is without limits
and at no distance from you
You are forever It”

Enigmatic space
Within & without
Face to face
We have no doubt

The substratum of the all
Upon which the Word resounds
Be it stillness or the squall
In, within and all around

“Seeing everything is imagination,
knowing the Self as timelessly free,
the sage lives as a child”

18.8
“Knowing himself as Absolute,
knowing existence and non-existence
to be imagination only,
what is there for the desireless one
to learn, say or do?”

Employing conscious thought to choose meditation
Then handing over the baton of awareness to intuition
Intuition resting in the stream flowing Divine connection
Rests allowing manifestation of ineffable blissful elation

If the point we miss
The learning is this
Just be to become
With Divine Love one
In childlike innocence
Without resistance

“The yogi who is liberated while living
has no duties in this world,
no attachments in his heart
His life proceeds without him”

Heaven on earth
In blissful mirth

“Beyond stillness,
beyond distraction,
the great soul thinks nothing
of liberation or bondage
Having seen the universe is void--
even though it seems to exist--
he is God”

Image and imagelessness
The vibrant void of Oneness
Renewal of the Aum reverberation
Manifestation & non-manifestation

Been there done that
Not in fiction but in fact
If illumined we must feel it in our bones
Else not real and therefore a clone

We rest our case
There being no disgrace
We in innocence
Do admit our ignorance

“Hearing ultimate Truth,
the dull-witted man is bewildered
The wise man hearing Truth
retreats within and appears dull-witted”

What a pleasant surprise!
Let us assume we are wise!

“The sage does whatever
appears to be done
without thinking of good or bad
His actions are those of a child”

Heart over head
Agendaless exuberance
No talks with Ted
Childlike innocence

“For the deluded one,
even rest is an activity
For the wise,
even action bears the fruit of stillness”

Stillness within all chaotic movement external
Not by control but as a reflex orientation
Paves way to cognise movement in stillness internal
We may call this meditation in continuation

Meditation effortless
There being no doer
Presence in stillness
Has the Divine as the mover

“The sage neither yearns for fulfilment
nor frets over non-attainment
His mind is cool
and brimming with sweetness”

Desire being for connecting
Not for attaining
For if the connection is seamless
We are in divine entwined blissfulness

“The sage wanders about as he pleases
and lives on whatever may come
Contentment ever dwells in his heart
And when the sun sets,
he rests where he is”

18.97
“Even while distracted the blessed one is still
In meditation, he does not meditate
In ignorance, he remains clear
Though learned, he knows nothing”

In timeless time
In as ordained by the Divine sublime
As we harmonise inner alignment
In peaceful contentment
Thoughts & associations fade
In a sea of bliss we rest in the glade
Osmotically imbibing
Radiantly outpouring
The ineffable love fragrance
In childlike innocence
Hollowed out inside out
As we go about
Boundaries between the seen & unseen blurring
In an unending continuum meditating
There being no coming or going
There is no doer though we appear to be doing
In the elixirous flow of Divine Love continual
In resonance with Oneness continues our renewal

Divine Love our fuel
