Behind closed doors

Can you let go now
Of something that you left
behind,
Yet something that waits behind
the closed door, and the dusty blind
The tender heart killed in an ambush
of flight running through the killing
fields, running through the night
The killing fields of life
Something so innocent
As a caring smile or a cuddled child
that made you forget what life
was about

Your life hanging in some kind of balance
Till the angels feather .slightly .knocks the scales
And you are put to right

Ah, this one persistently pokes me on my upper arm to get my attention...

I also got caught up in the image, "Yet something that waits behind the closed door, and the dusty blind." I kept looking at the image -- opening the door, hearing a creak, strumming the blind and watching the dust fly.

Thanks for sharing
