Yes. It can be very difficult to see ourselves as we actually are, rather than how we would like to be.

Which I suppose is why life holds up so many mirrors for us to see ourselves reflected. But if we don't like what we see then we tend to blame the mirror!

Peace

Well, I totally agree. I'm not gonna embrace parts I don't like or want.
I can analyze them, learn from them, not get all riled up about them...and all that.
Embrace? Not me.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Spirituality can at times feel like a bit of a double edged sword so to speak. I find accepting first helps then after acceptance one is more open and ready to embrace the not so nice parts as a lesson containing a good dose of constructive criticism. Once you transmute and transform the negative your more able to just accept then embrace I think.
