I google Chaos Theory and see that there are two primary factors to be considered;
Initial conditions, and non-linear effects.
1) initial conditions ie variables that can occur at the begining of any considered set of events, that may effect the outcome/resultant end of the same considered set of events..
Ex a viral infection, or weather, or whatever, has an effect on individual and may make it harder to predict how there day will go than if they were not being affected differrent than normal set of initial conditions.
Ex an individual normally has lights in early morning going to bathroom, had no lights in early morning and the stubbed their toe, so now that may have effects unintended affects the rest of that day.
....for what ever reason maybe they were groggier that morning also that also helped to stubbing toe....and here again, that may relate back to a variable from previous night of drinking, or sleeping pill, or maybe had been awake of 3 days.
2) non-linear effects i.e. a larger than normal set of variables that affect an individuals day are considered and we try to see how all of those effect affect the overall outcome resultant for that individuals day.
This is related the whole of the individuals day being greater than the sum of its parts, and that is called synergy and

In this above example were going beyond simple linear mathematics, wherein we say that, 1 + 1 = 2. Linear is related to a numerical line and that line can be said to relate to any one of three lines of space, X, Y or Z lines/dimensions

3 nodal events{ dots } can only exist in 2 dimensions of X and Y, Y and Z or X and Z.
4 nodal events{ dots } allows for 3D considerations because X, Y and Z can all be factors, or variables, however, 4 or mmore nodal event does not neccessitate 3D considerations, only allows for them to exist.
I.e. we can have any number of nodal events{ dots } events in same 2D plane and at 4 we have the first possibility of 3D considerations.
So if initial conditions are only 3 dots as factors or varibles, then we are limited get closer to a simple linear line of mathematical considerations of say 1 + 1 = 2.
