The Dangers of Mixing Christianity With Other Mystic Ideologies

The path of Christ is a path on its own and does not require any form of 'assistance' in understanding it. All one needs to understand the path of Christ and the Bible is the Holy Spirit; once you have that, then your good!

With this in light, we see how many Believers become easily swayed by lack of understanding toward mystical ideologies such as the a New Age, Yoga and other related systems of learning. This unfortunately opens the door towards unclean spirits that would easily sway the believer into thinking they have found some unique knowledge or unlocked some mystery.

The Scriptures say in Colossians 2:18, 19 that we should be wary of angel worship and indulging oneself in things which they have not yet seen, heard or experienced and doing so in an over exaggerated manner that is far from the truth. This draws the attention of unclean spirits who are willing and always ready to tickle our fancies; especially those weaved by the imagination. This is a challenge, an obstacle, a stumbling block for Believers who haven't yet entered into the elevated spaces of the Spirit.

Let's keep on with Christ, and hope in the promise of God's Spirit to dwell in us and cause us to ascend into the creative realms of the Spirit of truth.

PS I saw that his focus on following his chosen path regarding Christ was 'very nice'.
Not that I personally agree that doing yoga or some New Age beliefs opens one to unclean spirits - they could,
anything could, I suppose- I don't know that much about it.
(A glass of wine could!)

To me anger, pride, jealousy, greed, vengeance or worry opens one to very bad 'stuff' far more
than NA thoughts or yoga stretches.

As for the thread.. sure, Christianity and mysticism don't mix if the 'bible' is viewed as authoritative. I've been saying that many times in the context of theological discussions, though for any individual this should of course not be (and rightly so) relevant.

There are many spirits in heaven, all sortsa shapes 🙂

Christianity's true meaning is hid in symbols and parables. Once you understand them you see there are parallels to other spiritual teachings. That being said, I'm not sure Paul understood or had insight of them. For example, he thinks it's OK to have sex with your wife.
