I can't even see the picture because I'm at work and it won't show up (and my students are watcing a Great Books DVD about Jane Austen so I can't really concentrate), but immediately as I opened the thread and started reading your post, I got the feeling of an austere woman with a name that's...hmmm...I felt "Mavis"...but that doesn't seem quite right. M plays somewhere in the name ;)

There is a cane.

I will try to remember to look up this thread when I get home so I can check out the picture and see if I pick anything up. This is a fun thread.

Home from work and took a look at the photo...not getting anything!

Immediate thoughts were Sussex area, life taken for a strong belief. Still getting an older female name with an M attached.

Edit: just back from the store and while there I felt prompted to write another impression that I had before but I brushed away as inconsequential: I kept getting a small beloved pet. Haha...that's it. (I suppose you have to practice at this a lot?)

Hello

Its not Sussex but the "M" does fit to her last name. Mompesson.

Now I ask that one's do not "Google" that name as it might will give away too much. Move from that name to the deeper surroundings of her death, and where we might well be.

Hello

Not Cornwall or Andrew.

I am disappointed in how terrible I am at this.

All I got was the name "Molly' and a word or name, 'Eddington'.

I already know these are wrong. But I thought I'd share to cheer other people up.

Also, something about witchcraft or midwifery, herbs. Some medicinal something.

This is hard. Performance anxiety?

Hello

Your not the only one to get "Molly" while its not a name I have ever been able to find associated here at this site, it does have a ring to it. Might well have been a "nick name" that was used. It goes to a child of about 4 year's old.

The feelings of midwifery and maybe the crafts does fit to this time. There is an annual festival there with very Pagan ties to it.

So one is on the right track with what is flowing in.
