This is horrible. Freak accident... why do players not wear a scarf of sorts around their neck?

Yes it was horrific beyond words .
Relatively local to me and I know a female staff member that works with the ice hockey at the Sheffield arena.
I commented several times in my sports threads but I omitted the awful details givings the forum members the opportunity to delve further into this themselves if they so wished.
The circumstances of this tragedy were too awful for me to graphically describe.
And even now, it's very very difficult to comprehend.

It was a one in a million tragic accident and I don't really think a "scarf" would have protected him.
Just dreadful beyond words.

Rest in peace Adam.

I know Dude would have meant no harm but the headline was the type of thing I was used to seeing during my years as a newsagent in a bid to sell papers with the more "unscrupulous" editorials .

I can promise it was horrific.
No-one in their right mind would wish to view this incident and I can guarantee many of the players , staff and fans in the crowd may well need counselling.
