Butterflies, butterflies in my stomach
Flying colours in the sky
Lights in the cold, endless night
They bring me home, they shatter the lies
The foundations, the walls of the past
All I have built in the sands of the desert
Where the water is scarce and abundance is lost
Lost in these tall forests of hopes and aspirations
But these butterflies know the way
They started out as caterpillars, innocent and small
Through a thick shell they learned to break
Break free and grow wings
Wings of freedom, transforming the body
Transforming my spirit
New goals, new interests, new aspirations
A new perspective on what I called my life
From mountaintops and green hills
Where nature grows in abundance
And allows me the vision to see new horizons
Witnessing greater things than I could imagine
Exploring the world and its depth
Meet new people and eventually myself
I allow myself to take wing
Following these lights in the nightsky
Home, they take me home
