What belief? The belief that you are an I and a self? Sorry, but I would say that you do have those beliefs. For as long as you are functioning like a regular human, then on some level you believe that you exist, therefore you see who you are as an I and a self.

Do you ever talk of accepting yourself, or loving yourself, or forgiving yourself? Do you ever use the word 'yourself' in conversation? Have you ever said that you like or dislike yourself or that you are happy or unhappy with yourself? Do you ever think about yourself?

These are just a few examples of hundreds in which we talk about an I and a self that we 'have'.

then why would you talk about the hundred different ways? If the moment changes the perception of self might change...but is it in battle with the way you last saw it....it might just taken its sweater off or put one of a different colour on.

I meant there are a hundred different ways in which we talk about having a self. You demontrated one of them above in which you talked about an 'I' that perceives a 'me'. Its a split.

Well, in your mind you have given existence to an 'I' and a 'me'. When clearly there is only 'you', whether it is the 'I' or the 'me' (take your pick). 'You' are not the 'I' AND the 'me'.

what is seen as a self is actually a self image or a reflection of the self. it is a common mistake to be mistaken as the actual self.

if it can be seen, it is a mirror image.
