Question about trances
How are trances related to the Spirit world? Are they just used to facilitate a vision, etc., or is a trance a completely independent experience? What are the main characteristics of a trance?

By definition, a trance is a highly suggestible, somewhat passive state that's used extensively in hypnosis. It's also often used by mediums to facilitate communication. It can be used for self-healing as well, and many other things. It's a fairly normal, easily attainable, "altered state of consciousness", and can be used for whatever you want.
