How do you let go of a thought? Same process.
We create a connection if we talk to someone in the street. Only, this connections dissolve very quickly, since in most cases, they are not feed.
We forget about the interaction, and the other person most likely to.
Those connections have to be feed from both sides to stay alive.
positive or negative, the same.

I guess I should ask what is wrong with connections? Aren't these part of life?
Thank you by the way.

Sure, they are part of life, part of the learning process.
They are not right as they are not wrong.
One could write a book about the interplay of those connection and it's relation with emotions.
The interesting part is, as emotions flatten out, we stop feeding those connections, positive connections as well as the negative one.

Underpinning Spirituality is everything human, and regardless of how much people talk about how Spiritual they are, that shows how human they are. Echoes and reflections, if people make claims often it's as reflection of what they perceive of as a lack within themselves. A self-realised person would understand the reason claiming to be self-realised would be a bad idea, it's little more than boasting. Talking to God is little more than the ego on the rampage or a mental health issue.
The litmus test is to ask people what 'self' is, while in psychology it's tightly defined in Spirituality it's anything anybody wants it to be - including a projection.
