How to meditate when you've gone numb

When Im feeling strong emotions especially painful ones I can meditate and become meditative really effectively. But there are times when I go emotionally numb and I cant seem to meditate so well when in a numb state. I usually do inner body meditation where I feel inside my body and emotions really help with this. When I go numb I seem to lose touch with my body so dont have the same anchor, I can drift into thoughts so easily like that.

I started speaking to my body and telling it that its safe. It sems to help. And saying "I love you" to myself helps. Breathwork and breath meditation, what happens is vibrations and tingling starts and gets really intense but I havent been able to reconnect with my body and emotions through breathwork yet.

Does anyone here ever experience dissociation from the body and if so, do you have any techniques to reassociate?

That is so funny ---I have never mentioned it here...I don't do mantras..but sometimes for a little bit...
I will say, silently, as I breath..."You are my Love, You are my Love."
I break out into an instant smile.
Cuz I am in love with God.

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru

Fullness in Emptiness

Here is a poem for you, addressing your ‘problem’. Enjoy!

***

Even in the most sunken vibration
When darkness seems to hold sway over mind
We may reclaim our innate elation
No sooner we rest narrow thoughts that bind

Each half-breath is marked by a poignant pause
Void wherein duality has no hold
Abiding therein, there remains no cause
To stagnate amidst thought patterns of old

Amplification of love pulsation
Becomes then the only doership we do
Vivified by gentle bliss sensations
As heightened rapture within does renew

Ensconced thus in divine entwined caress
We be to become, core essence of bliss

Saying I love you definitely helps; I find after being a reincarnation of a twin flame time alone —- absurd the cubits from the atomic; numbness can be an issue: fostering technical knowledge of loving and tender-care and communication helps a lot—- breathing exercises—- I usually feel calmer when my breathing happens natural and I can hear the baby in my breathing so to speak —-

Let's see how can I explain this in a easy way straight forward way.

Emotions is a form of Energy. It's up to our mind what to do or how to handle and or redirect such energy.
Seem's as if you are using these emotions at least the one's you are able to. And taking the natural power they possess and using them towards an heightened Spiritual like state.
It's almost similar as someone using a substance such as Native American's to further reach a heightened Spiritual state.
Instead of an artificial substance, being able to use the natural power of an emotion/s to produce such a state. Can be very profound and also very addictive as well as believing one needs this boost to reach such a state.
It's not something I come across to often in others and this can be an amazing process. Just as all things, can have unwanted side effects. This is something that I find Intuitive people more likely being able to do.
Have you ventured in using emotions that of not so sunshine and rainbows?
If so and if not, I can't express enough how caution should be not taken lightly. That goes for the entire emotion spectrum.
