Oh right, didn't realise that you had to sign in to access the members cafe.

Dream Angel you missed my point about the lounge. Of course it's well visited...that's my point! If someone just goes to 'new posts', then only the latest post in lounge is displayed i.e. not the later ones. Anyway, no matter - looks like this thread is taking off now.

Really enjoying my current read: Countdown to Coherence by Courteney, Hazel

Find the information invaluable and learning a lot from those whose career it is to know everything there is to know about their subject. These are people I would want to interview as well.

Gosh, too many people to choose from, so I'll just narrow it down to >>> Commedians.

From my childhood favorites: The Three Stooges to Late greats like John Candy and so many more.

I don't think commedians get enough credit because most people think they're a mere distraction. I say they're a must to make it through life.

Yes - they say laughter is the best medicine....unless you're diabetic, in which insulin comes pretty high up on the list!!

I like comedy that also makes me think (i.e. entertain and educate me)....Bill Hicks was a maverick pioneer in this. He was my inspiration for doing stand up comedy. He can be a bit too aggressive for some, but he makes really good points....tells it like it is. I loved him - sadly he is no longer with us.

Yes, I think comedy is a necessity - and I like all kinds, but it has to have cleverness, even if it's slapstick - and heart. (Is Bill Hicks more aggressive than, say that Jewish guy who's always involved in the roasts? Can't think of his name atm.)

Oh, good choice, amy... Bill Hicks was great!

Bill Hicks - It's Just A Ride

George Carlin was another good 'tell it like it is' one.

Dream Angel today (and other days too) I am really inspired by this elderly fellow who recently volunteered to do our gardens at work. He is one of the most humble people i have met lately. He is so unimposing and discreet ... and over the months he has quite literally (and ever so quietly) bought the place back to life. He doesn't even expect a cup of tea as he brings a Thermos ... we had a small budget to replace some of the plants and just found out yesterday he has purchased them already with his own money ... we are reminded of his generous heart every time we arrive for work. I will take some photos of the flowers he has blooming for us and post them soon ... so he is my 'person of interest' today
