matthew 22:15 Then the Pharisees went and plotted how they might entangle Him in His talk.

21 verses ahead of Matthew 22:36 which looks like the verse you quote
it describes a bit about entanglement or to trap him by his words.
So I guess to discredit him to the people to lower his status.
With authority comes money and goods and respect and it seems
Jesus was a threat to them, since he had real Power, and they only had
authority in their structured system.

What might have been the reason why Jesus answered the initial question for what was he considered the greatest commandment, but also added what he considered the second commandment?

If people could master this second commandment, would it alleviate a lot of the problems we have today?

I would say "Yes". As people, we should be emphasizing "loving our neighbor as we do our self" and I would say a lot of our problems we have today would dissipate.

Who starts first? We do.................. of course.

'authority comes money and goods and respect' which you mentioned Jesus' teachings were a threat to this structure. No wonder some wanted him dead.

If a person can not love them self, they should seek out professional help. In many cases, a pill, once a day, can solve the problem.

Once a person has seen professional help as to why they can not love then self, then they can go on to working on loving their neighbor.

If the person's dislike for them self is overwhelming, society might have to commit them.

Where there Psychiatrists do you think in Biblical times to help these poor people and administer Pills.... The Command-ment is flawed IMO. or they didn't recognize that not everyone ' Loves themselves '.

Jesus was only asked, what is the greatest commandment, and he replied what he considered the greatest and what he considered the second greatest.

If Jesus had time, what would he have listed as the third greatest commandment?
