Suddenly unable to eat meat & poultry, has this happened to anyone else?

I've been eating meat and poultry my entire life thus far, and I'm 36. Quite suddenly I am unable to eat meat and poultry because just the thought of it turns my stomach. Keep in mind, I used to not be able to go more than 2 weeks without a good burger and buffalo chicken wings. About a year ago I began to get turned off by red meat. So, I leaned more towards poultry most of the time. But within the last week or two, I am disgusted by both. I have totally eliminated meat and poultry from my diet. I had fish once. I have actually tried tofu and tempeh, and liked it!
Has anyone else experienced this, the sudden change or dislike?

A film about animal abuse is what caused me to go vegi the first time. The second time I felt guilty while eating wings; it was just sickening to think of those poor chickens.

Olivia, it sounds as if you are being gently encouraged to become vegetarian or even vegan! Perhaps your vibrations just don't match the meat-eating energy any more?
If you decide to become vegan make sure you still get at least these three things:
Vitamin D
Omega 3 oils
Vitamin B12

There are also other essential nutrients like Calcium, which may need some thought,

So that means a little research. Good luck!

Yes this happened to me over the last 25 years.
First alcohol and coffee, then all meats and fish, then all processed foods including grains. No sugar, or dairy with the exception of one or two fermented milks.

vegetarian for 14+years and a few years ago i started to feel grossed out by eggs and just didn't really want to eat them anymore.i started questioning if maybe it was wrong to do it but had no knowledge it was and didnt look into it. in hindsight,i feel that was me being guided to stop.i didn't but ate much less of them. now,i am vegan.

Yes, that has happened to me.

The only meat I am attracted to, and even that less and less often is beef.

Pork, which I used to love, is a total turn off to me, and poultry is yuck. We don't even have turkey at thanksgiving now, and I never thought I'd feel that way!

This came on rather suddenly, though not overnight.

Yes!!! Me!, Me, Me!!! That's why I stop eating meat, my whole life I have eaten meat, not a day that I would not eat it, suddenly I started feeling disgusted of it. I just can't eat it anymore. I'm about your age too!! I started getting disgusted first of the red meat and then any other poultry. The other day I was temped to eat some chicken and when I put it in my mouth I started gagging and I had to spit it out. I never thought in my entire life that I would stop eating meat and disliked it. I do wonder why now that I got like this, but honestly I don't miss it and I feel good! and another issue that I have is that I just don't like the killing of animals just so that I can eat it.

Had the exact same thing happen to me recently. The only meat I can eat is fish without feeling sick.

Glad to see that this isn't so strange after all. I can still occasionally eat some fish and seafood, but I feel that even that may be temporary. I don't think that I will ever give up alcohol or coffee, but who knows, I didn't anticipate the meat thing either. Processed foods also have become less appealing to me too, forgot to mention that. Thanks for the advice about on the nutrients, that is a concern.
