Thank you!!
In a way I am 'painted out' for now. It always seems to come and go for me and I currently lack inspiration. But that can change within an hour, hihi.
But the last month I couldn't really do anything much because of my ankle. Still no idea what it really was. GP thought an inflamed tendon.
Last week I began specific TCM for swollen ankles and suddenly it went down! Within a day major improvement! I'm not completely out of the woods yet, but close to it.
Time to lower dosis of NSAIDs (for inflammation). Been taking that for 4 weeks now, been enough. Already went from 600mg Ibuprofen to 400. Now about to try 200mg.
I actually had Naproxen from GP but holy cow, does that stuff play tricks on the brain! Took 1, never again, hihi.

That's interesting to hear! I haven't experimented with oils so far. Currently, I'm finding pleasure in working with gouache.

Thank you, PinkFlower!!
I haven't used gouache since secondary school, so I can't remember pros & cons myself. But did read that it is in a sense more versatile than acrylics. Once acrylics have dried it not water soluble any longer where gouache should be.
So maybe it has the similar benefits to work with as I described for oils?

Hey I feel the same……I’m all painted out as well. Got no inspiration whatsoever. But I’m ok with it. It will either come back or not. Not bothered either way to be honest.

PinkFlower. Working with oils is brilliant and mostly because if you make a mistake, you just rub it off and repaint over it when it dries. You can’t do that with water colour.

Also when you want to blend say a dark into a light you can get a much softer transition by using your finger or soft brush. Acrylic dries too quickly to achieve that softness.

Ive painted for years using oils and personally I think they are best!

That's exactly what I was trying to explain, hihi.
But I found it only really works well with regular turp based oils. Maybe expert/artist quality water soluble does better at it too, I use studio quality.

Oh, and I'm also not bothered that I currently haven't got inspiration to paint. It always surfaces again :)
I think it's normal that there's an ebb & flow to it. Inspiration is seldom a steady line. It goes up and down.
And during spring there's so much to do in my large garden so in that sense I need the time to do that for now.
