Miracles

I've been wondering about this for a little while. I feel I am witnessing miracles; the Japanese plane that caught fire in a collision on the ground and yet all 384 passengers got out alive. (Those in the small other plane weren't so lucky but there were just 7 of them). Another passenger plane, this in USA, had a solid chunk of it side ripped off DURING FLIGHT and still everyone survived in the ensuing gale inside the plane. And those are just two events. To me these are true miracles; the logical result of these events should have been disasters. Remember that plane that landed on water in New York a few years ago? Again, implausible miracle, they all lived iirc.

But it seems I may not be using the correct word. According to wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle
I suppose it would have been meeting definitions if a couple of giant hands had reached out from the sky above and helped out. But I just don't need that sort of thing to believe. A great thing happened that was unlikely to happen, and I will call that a miracle thank you so much Wikipedia.

How about you guys? How do you define a miracle?

Well a few years ago just after I lost my husband.my sister in law and one of my nieces along with 2 of my daughters were in the car when we were in an Accident,
we were on top of a beauty spot here called The Horse Shoe Pass it is 365 feet high.
I remember grabbing the steering wheel to turn it and I blacked out I came to it was all quiet i turned to the kids to ask if they were ok they started Screaming. my sister in law was ok as were the kids

I was in the passenger side my side of the car was embedded in a stone wall I got out through the drivers side but I was the only one injured

The kids told me that the car had spun round three times and we were dangling over the edge.
then they felt the car turn even though it was the wrong way my sister in law
told me she felt my husband move the car.even though I had to have an operation on my arm and I couldn't continue driving because i damaged my neck we were alive

Namaste

I was in such a low that another day in the same mess would break me so deeply that, what it felt to me, my soul would be no more. So I told god what I needed. He broke me the right way and gave me what was pressuring me. I did not want him to take away anything, so he forced me through it. Those were the most traumatizing few weeks of my life, on top of an awful life. Now years later still figuring it all out, but made big strides knowing where I came from. I have never given up, despite trying to. Too stubborn deep within.

''How do you define a miracle?"

Are these the hand of some sort of intervention? From an Angel? I don't know.
But I love that you are bringing so-called miracles to our attention!!!
......
Why do I say 'so-called'? Because Spirit or angels or spirit guides intervening in our lives
to save us are wonderful ...and 'seem' like miracles ---but
they are only protecting or healing us; from the spirit world or Other Side.
Not really miraculous.

Wine into water? Seems like a miracle - right? Um, not really ---just
powers manipulating atoms.
''God works in mysterious ways?'' Um, not really.

Maybe a good reference is to read books by Baird Spalding....ya know, the first
3 Volumes of '...Masters of the Far East....' series.

@ Miss H ~ strange that you mention this ‘Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East’ , I just opened the first of the five volumes yesterday, for a re-read.

Life itself is a miracle in my opinion.

As I was cutting the stems of my marigolds for my salad last night, these delicate nature works of art, were so vibrant and the petals were in perfect design and order..thanks to the beautiful soaking rains, tender loving care and support, they thrive, we feasted, we are nourished and supported by them..

Yes I would also recommend those books by Baird Spaulding. I think there where about 7 of them. Fascinating!

I felt they were very similar to what Paul Brunton wrote about his experiences in the far east.

Some people say “miracles” while others may say “luck,” and still others may call it karma, or something else. I believe that we are all “blessed” and it is just a matter of learning how to access our blessings.

It is my experience that my own inner light protects me merely because I am conscious of it, and it protected me when I was unconscious of it. It supported me in my potential and did what it could to see me through on this human journey.

I have seen hundreds of people die and have come to the conclusion that no one dies until it is time for them to die. As the Biblical phrase goes, “a time to be born, a time to die,” etc. Murphy had it wrong; whatever can go wrong may not go wrong.

Yes, luck.
But, it wasn't luck when I was in a life threatening situation and I felt an angel move me out of the way!
(And that's just one 'miracle' like this I've exp'd...that wasn't really a 'miracle'.)
