Hello all.
It may seem controversial to suggest on these pages that it seems there is a tendency to place much credence in supposed prophecies and less in our powers of reasoning and deduction.?
Perhaps this is due to the fact that our powers of reasoning and deduction may lead us to conclusions which we would rather not act upon if such conclusions require actions contrary to our personal desires and ambitions?
Perhaps the most pertinent prophecies are those which illustrate this phenomenon.?

Really quite a waste of some good teachings by Jesus (Gospel of Thomas) although apparently the last thing these people want to do is help those refugees so they are quite far from Christ's messages it seems, unfortunately.

That's a very good point, as usual.
What are your thoughts on what we might do or act on, petex?

You're not thinking critically of what's going on in this world around you.
Are you?
Prophesies say a third of mankind will perish.
And, what does Revelation 10:5-9 telling us?
Every organic lifeform from the microbe, to us, has the inate survival instinct. Yet, it is all part of the Matrix.
Jesus spoke of a greater reality and truth.

Well do keep in mind that the bible is an esoteric book which means that what's written has to be interpreted because everything written about is just a symbol. So when you read for example that 1/3 of the sea dieing it's not actually talking about literally one third of the ocean life dying

Can't we entertain the possibility that it doesn't make sense or you're seeing things, making up patterns? Or is that too expansive a viewpoint

Hello janielee and all.
In response to your question JL.--
We might choose to use our powers of reason and deduction and consider the extreme folly of selfish behaviour.--for eventually, as we crowd ourselves up against the boundary fence of diminishing choices, we can readily deduce that such behaviour becomes a millstone around our collective necks.
