I see you're away from SF for the moment but I hope you will see my response later.

Let me do the easy bit first - I don't KNOW there are other universes. But what I've heard from teachers and guides is that we may wish to undertake incarnations in worlds different from our own. I see those worlds perhaps being in other universes although I accept that could be wrong. And other universes may not have worlds our spirits could beneficially incarnate on.

I suppose it's possible that other universes - 'dimensions' might be a better term - are associated with or connected to our own. They may, of course, be very remote from us but how would we quantify what 'remote' means in this context?

Persuaded as I am that other dimensions do exist then wherever they are compared with ourselves and whatever their nature, in my perception and in the words I use I allow for their existence.

I hope that avoids my approach seeming parochial.

I agree with bobjob. You will never be able to prove that there are other universes. There is most likely a lot that we do not know about and may never be able to prove it. I think there are dimensions but I would not be able to prove it.

Thank you (to all the staff visible or not) for the hard volunteer work

Spirit Guide Sparrow, I view "afterlife" more like "in between lives".
What does that mean? Am I that "ready to go"?

I think that's a very good way to look at it...especially after reading Dr. Brian Weiss and
Rob Schwartz...and that Chico Xavier movie.

Perhaps like many others I use 'afterlife' as shorthand for the state we'll find oursleves after we have passed over. It's quick, easy and largely understood the way I mean it.

We commonly use the word 'life' to mean the time we are alive in-the-body in this physical world. Yet those who are persuaded by the notion of our spirit-selves being our 'true' selves likely accept we are eternal beings.

So if it's suggested that the afterlife is more a state we experience in between lives the impression remains that life itself only occurs in this dimension rather than life being the default state of being wherever and whenever.

My preference is to refer to 'incarnate lives' to mean all the lives we experience in-the-body and on this earth. And 'discarnate lives' to mean all the lives we experience when we're not in-the-body and not on this earth.

Sparrow,

I am getting to feel more how wide you are and I feel guided by you in remembering my origins.
Simply wanted to thank you for that here, even if all those forms of exchanges are beyond words.
I am happy.

Regards

Antoine

Hi Sparrow

A question if you are around and have the time and inclination for it.

I have a spiritual background in East Asian Mahayana Buddhism. Zen training produced some world view overhauling experiences in my teens. In my late 20s, what seems like past life memories and connection over many lives with the diety avalokiteshvara pointed me in a direction that was, you could say, more life oriented than emptiness oriented.
Here in my 30s, cultivating a deeper relationship with the goddess Cundi (who seems to be both an emanation of avalokiteshvara and her own thing) has only affirmed that orientation. Encountering kashmir shaivism seemed like a positive flipside to the renunciate streams in Buddhism and reflected a lot of what Cundi had been showing me already.

A lot of this has been on my own though. There is not much spoken of of such deity relationships in Buddhism except in vajrayana and the insistence on formal empowerment and fixed rituals for such a relationship didn't match my path. When I encountered your writings on angels, door keepers and and much else it was delightful to see so much of my somewhat fuzzy experiences in this arena mirrored and spoken with such clarity in plain English.

It is this fuzziness I'd like to ask about - the connection and clarity of the connection seems to fluctuate. Sometimes it can be difficult to tell what is just my own guff and what is genuine connection. It's not black and white as far as I can tell, as these beings and experiences often clothe themselves in my own imagination and respond to my own guff as it is.

Still I was wondering if you have some advice for deepening and clarifying these connections and experiences - and if you should feel so inspired, some advice in general on the nature of this subject and how to navigate it as you see it.
