Three is an interesting teaching myth that is well known in Hindu circles. It is about a preacher and a prostitute.

The preacher led an outwardly moral life and was responsible to his family and society as with the person in your post. However, he constantly condemned "SIN" wherever he saw it.

On the other hand, the prostitute since had been abandoned by her husband and prostitution was her only means of support for herself and her child. She didn't want to do that and prayed constantly for deliverance but she could see no alternative. As you can imagine, she was often condemned by the "holy" preacher.

When both died, the preacher went to hell while the prostitute went to heaven. The preacher was appalled and could not understand. "God" explained that, while on earth, the preacher only saw sin so it was natural for him to gravitate to the place where sin is rampant ... namely hell. On the other hand, the woman always prayed for deliverance from prostitution and hence her prayers were answered as she gravitated to heaven as a loving mother.

Man does not always see as "God" sees.
