"Every one of us is shadowed by an illusory person: a false self (and) we are not very good at recognizing illusions, least of all the ones we cherish about ourselves and which feed the roots of sin. A life devoted to the cult of this shadow is what is called a life of sin and for most people, there is no greater subjective reality than this false self of theirs, which cannot exist."

the answer is in the bible
what obscures god? ego? if god is the creator of us, who or what is the creator of ego?
Job 1:7
The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming throughout the earth, going back and forth on it.”
Job 1:12
The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
ego is satan! the cause of all evil
So was Jesus Satanic when He uses His Ego , was He being ' Evil ' ?

whoa! it's the opposite! to me anyway
an illusionary ego cannot create consciousness!
the ego comes from "i" and "me!"
and the parking space where we keep the ego could be filled with god instead!

what i was trying to get across there unsuccessfully in this case is that word satan meant ego, the false self. jesus was fighting with his own mind in those passages, his thoughts, his ego, his false self. rewrite all those quotes and substitute the word ego everywhere it says satan and it keeps its meaning. i also posted that yoganada quote where yoganada said the same thing. the "devil" or "satan" in those passages meant earthy/worldly "ego" consciousness and not god consciousness.

i had to look up the meaning of "theocracy" lol but that was a really good point to me.
but then did jesus want to be the messiah king as the jews prophesized?
either way, jesus was not a socialist to me.
according to the web, socialists believe making, moving, and trading wealth should be owned or controlled by the workers
jesus was against holding personal wealth i think

was Jesus egotistical when he uses His Ego?
really the ego would be using jesus there
we don't use the ego, the ego influences us or not
what defines an ego as good or bad is a whole other topic

How do you see ' Ego ' as Satan and Evil ?

OK, the topic is Was Jesus a Socialist.
As interesting as it is about ego ---there
are plenty of threads on it ...or start another in Christianity.
It's a great topic: Is ego the devil?
Go for it.
